Are you planning to move to Brazil but aren’t sure about visas and paperwork? Luckily, Brazil Digital Nomad Visa is here to help you! Introduced in February 2022, Brazil Digital Nomad Visa allows you to stay in the country for one year. The bonus is that you can be eligible for another year and continue enjoying great food, nice beaches, and amazing nightlife.

What Is Brazil Digital Nomad Visa?

Brazil Digital Nomad Visa allows foreign nationals who are employed or provide services outside of Brazil to live and work in Brazil without the sponsorship of a local employer. This means while you’re free to live in Brazil and continue working remotely under this visa, you’ll not be allowed to work for a local employee in the country.

Requirements for Brazil Digital Nomad Visa

The first step you need to take is to contact the Brazilian embassy or consulate in your country where you’ll start your application. The consulate officers will provide you with relevant information depending on your situation but in general, you’ll need to present the following:

  • A valid passport
  • Health insurance that covers Brazil
  • Visa fees payment receipt
  • Visa application form
  • Criminal record (either from your home country or the country you’re currently living in)
  • A document that proves your status as a digital nomad or a remote worker, ie. your contract with an overseas company
  • A declaration showing that you rely on communication and information technologies for your remote work

Income Requirements

To be eligible for a Digital Nomad Visa in Brazil, you need to prove that your monthly income is a minimum of $1,500. If this is not applicable, you can show a bank account with a minimum savings of $18,000.
